Narendra Dev University of Agriculture and Technology Faizabad

Narendra Dev University of Agriculture and Technology is an agricultural university at Faizabad district in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. It is in the small town of Milkipur Constituency known as Kumarganj.

On 15 January 1974 the foundation stone of Narendra Dev University of Agriculture and Technology was led by the prime minister of India late Smt. Indira Gandhi at Mashodha near Faizabad. Shri Laxmi narain Rai, APCS officer of Agriculture Department, government of UP, was deputed as officer on special duty. After a few months, he was succeeded by Dr. A.S. Srivastava; he took over in October 1974. Some speed work was done by his team. A new development took place during 1975 and the government of Uttar Pradesh decided to locate the main campus at Kumarganj, Faizabad instead of Mashodha.

Bhabha, known for his role in the development of the Indian atomic energy programme, wrote to the Sir Dorabji Tata Trust requesting financial assistance to set up a scientific research institute.[3] With support from J.R.D. Tata, then chairman of the Tata Group, TIFR was founded on 1 June 1945, and Homi Bhabha was appointed its first director. The institute initially operated within the campus of the Indian Institute of Science, Banglore before relocating to Mumbai later that year. TIFR's new campus in Colaba was designed by Chicago-based architect Helmuth Bartsch and was inaugurated by Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru on 15 January 1962.
